As a youth with a passion
for social justice, Matt quickly learnt that his desire was not unique. In
fact, it was the overwhelming response from his peers when he pitched the
idea of a social justice association that sparked the establishment of Chasing
Rainbows Australia in 2006. Armed with a good idea, a business case and worthy
project in mind, Matt pitched the idea to the University of Western Sydney
who were only too happy to fund the establishment of the Association.
Since 2006 very little has changed. Chasing Rainbows is true to its mantra
and continues to offer volunteering opportunities to enthusiastic youth. The
projects are predominantly based across the Western Sydney region.
In 2008 Matt graduated with a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from the University
of Western Sydney and will graduate from his Bachelors degree in Law in 2010.
Matt continues to lead Chasing Rainbows Australia with the support of many
other volunteers. He actively seeks opportunities to create new projects and
encourages organisations and individuals to get in touch with him with any
ideas for the future.
