A program to improve literacy, leadership and computer skills within Greater Western Sydney.

Boosting Blacktown

After recent endorsement by the Parramatta Catholic Education Office, Chasing Rainbows Australia has now began its first project with St Patrick's Primary School in Blacktown. On a weekly basis, between October and late November 2007, Chasing Rainbows Australia are providing a team of 7 volunteers to assist in the development of fundamental educational and life skills for the future.

Chasing Rainbows Australia are excited to couple with St Patrick's in this project and hope that the impact of this program can change the plight of some students, allowing them to move into higher education with greater skills, knowledge and confidence to tackle their future endeavours.

This project was concerned with altering the plight of some of the most disadvantaged students in the Greater Western Sydney region. In conjunction with St Patrick's Blacktown, Chasing Rainbows Australia through a team of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers, developed a personal and effective approach to learning.

Focusing on aspects of education from leadership, to computer skills, to basic literacy and numeracy, the team of volunteers have had a profound impact on the lives of these students.

The team at Chasing Rainbows Australia really enjoyed this project and it opened their eyes to a world that often goes unseen. We sincerely hope that the impact is positive not only for the CRA team, but also for these students who will go on to make great leaders of the future.
